Ouderwetsewinkel is an e-commerce platform specializing in hand-crafted Dutch household goods such as traditional wooden clogs and brushes. Based in Alkmaar, Netherlands, the physical store is known as J.Boom. The e-commerce platform extends the reach of these cherished products beyond the local community. 

With nearly 200 years of history, it is known as the “old-fashioned shop” for its rich heritage. The platform blends this heritage with modern e-commerce, ensuring its quality and durability legacy continues to thrive in the digital age.

Our team executed an upgrade process to ensure a smooth transition to Magento 2.4.6-p4. 

The main solution involved a system upgrade. We began by verifying that the hosting server met the new system's specifications. Comprehensive store data backups, including databases, media files, and modified extensions, were created to ensure data safety. We then updated all external extensions and customized the front-end template to align with the new Magento features.

A mirror test server was established to validate the update process and prevent issues in the live environment. The database migration addressed challenges with data migration from the older Magento 1 database. The upgrade was conducted on the production server, updating the database schema and data. Post-update, extensive functionality tests were performed to ensure everything worked seamlessly. Finally, server performance was monitored, and adjustments were made to maintain optimal operation.
