The Challenge

Before the project began, Bestshop24 relied heavily on Amazon as its primary sales channel. While Amazon provides a broad market reach, it also comes with limitations such as high fees, delivery constraints, and restricted access to detailed customer insights.
Bestshop24 had previously operated its own online store, but the platform had been largely neglected for years. As a result, the website suffered from severe performance issues, including page load times of up to 30 seconds.
In today’s e-commerce environment, such performance issues are critical. Customers’ tolerance for slow websites is measured in seconds, and 79% of users who experience performance problems are less likely to return and purchase again. Improving site performance was therefore essential before restarting direct online sales.

Polcode analyzed Bestshop24’s technical setup and delivered a bespoke roadmap for revamping the e-commerce store. The project was taken over from the previous development team and successfully launched within weeks.

To address this, Polcode implemented a post-purchase customer satisfaction survey. Customers were encouraged to complete a short form in exchange for a 3% discount on their next purchase. This simple mechanism generated valuable customer insights and new touchpoints, enabling Bestshop24 to better understand customer needs and plan future improvements across products, delivery options, and payment methods.
Online Showroom & Product Recommendations
Polcode also developed an Inspiration feature that acts as an online showroom. It presents customers with complementary products that can be combined to create cohesive interior design concepts.
This recommendation layer not only supports higher sales but also increases customer engagement and helps users visualize complete solutions rather than individual products.
