Can you share your career journey and what led you to your current role at Polcode?
My tech journey began nearly 11 years ago when I joined Polcode. I believe I have found my place here—otherwise, I would have chosen a different path by now. I started my career as an Account Manager, transitioned into a Business Development role, and now, as a Customer Engagement Manager, I can confidently say that while the IT industry is fascinating, it is the customers who are truly at the heart of what I do.
To stay current with tech developments, I regularly engage with our specialists. I am grateful to work with experts who simplify complex concepts, making it easier for me to bridge the gap between tech and customer needs.
What key responsibilities and challenges do you face as a Customer Engagement Manager?
My day starts with checking my inbox and addressing the most urgent matters, while also monitoring our internal Rocket Chat to ensure there are no unresolved issues—especially from our Delivery Managers, who are the first point of contact for our active clients. I also make sure to dedicate time to developing strategies that enhance our client relationships. This includes everything from personalized communication to addressing their challenges and discovering new ways to provide added value.
The most exciting part of my job is seeing how our smooth cooperation leads to an enhanced client experience, reflected in positive feedback. It is not just me working to improve the customer journey—it is a team effort, which makes it even more rewarding. Listening to clients' experiences, identifying their needs, and collaborating on solutions is truly satisfying. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, keeping the job dynamic and fulfilling.
How have you navigated your career in the tech industry?
My experience in tech has been largely positive, though not without its challenges. While I have encountered obstacles, they were more about skill development than gender. With my team's support and drive to learn, I have tackled these challenges and grown significantly. This journey has allowed me to help others navigate similar hurdles, turning obstacles into opportunities for growth.
Who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration in your career?
It is difficult to single out just one person, but lately, I have been particularly inspired by insights from Customer Experience gurus. Certain podcasts have left a lasting impression on me and continue to keep me motivated. I also attended this year’s Customer Experience Summit, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Listening to experts who know more than I do in a field I am passionate about is always inspiring! 😄
What keeps me motivated in the tech industry is the constant opportunity for learning and innovation. Technology is always evolving, which means there is always something new to discover. I am excited by the challenge of staying ahead of the curve and finding creative solutions to help our customers succeed. The ability to make a real impact through my work, combined with the inspiration I draw from those around me, keeps me passionate and energized every day.
How do you balance work with your personal life?
Effective time management is key. I make it a point to plan my day with clear priorities, allowing me to stay productive without feeling overwhelmed. I also schedule personal time, whether it’s for exercise, hobbies, or spending time with loved ones, and treat it with the same importance as work meetings.
To stay energized, I prioritize a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise (a big shout-out to my trainer, Matylda), a balanced diet, and sufficient sleep are essential for me. I also make a habit of going to bed early, which helps ensure I am well-rested and ready for the day. By finding the right balance and recharging properly, I am able to perform at my best both professionally and personally.
